Velo Cruces serves as a hub for bicycling communication through this website, our Facebook page, Instagram page, and email list.
Velo Cruces hosts a calendar of all thing bicycling, including:

To find out about biking in Las Cruces, this is where to start.
ADVOCATE
Velo Cruces is the voice for the cycling community, insisting that our city council supports and advocates for cycling, propelling the complete streets initiative, participating in the discussion of the Rio Grande Trail (proposed to run from El Paso to Colorado), promoting the installation of bike racks around the city, and any other opportunities that arise to promote the improvement and safety of bicycling in Las Cruces. When an issue develops that calls for group action, Velo Cruces will reach out to cycling clubs and organizations to mobilize the cycling community to action.
PROMOTE
There are many great groups doing good work with cycling in our community: New Mexico State University, Safe Routes to School, and Optimist Club, among others.
Velo Cruces also sponsors The Hub Community Bike Shop and the Every Body Rides With Grace adaptive cycling program.
TO SERVE

Velo Cruces provides service to the bicycle community through The Hub Community Bike Shop. This service project is staffed by volunteer mechanics and volunteers that help with the administrative operations of The Hub.

Velo Cruces provides service to the community through the activities of Every Body Rides With Grace. This includes donating adaptive cycles to kids and adults throughout Dona Ana County and coordinating events that allow the users of adaptive cycles to enjoy outdoor activities.

Velo Cruces provides service through the Art Cart project. This project brings together welders, woodworkers, bicycle mechanics and artists to provide unique and beautiful carts that are donated to clients of the Community of Hope.

Velo Cruces serves the community by providing bicycle lights and high visibility vests to the Las Cruces Police Department to issue to cyclists and pedestrians that are using our roadways at night. This improves visibility and road safety and enables the patrol officers to educate and promote safety as opposed to issuing citations and impounding bicycles.
TO HAVE FUN
Velo Cruces embraces the fun that is inherent in riding a bicycle. This is accomplished by offering a variety of community rides for people of different abilities, e.g. Mayor’s Bike Ride, Reduce Your Carbon Footprint Ride, Buck Moon Ride, Visibility Ride, Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast Ride, etc.
